Dear Pascagoula-Gautier School District Family,

As Thanksgiving approaches, I want to take a moment to thank each of you. Our students, families, teachers, staff and community partners are the heart of our district, and I am grateful for the role you play in making PGSD a place we are all proud to call home.

Though this is my first year serving as superintendent, it’s not the first school year that I’ve witnessed our community’s strength, care and commitment. It is truly an honor to serve in this role and to give back to the district that has given so much to me.

Every day, I see students learning and growing, teachers going the extra mile, and families working together with our schools. From the classroom to the cafeteria, from the bus stop to the boardroom, every person contributes to the success of our students. Together we are moving from great to exceptional by supporting one another and striving for excellence in all that we do.

To our students, thank you for your hard work and hope for the future. To our families, thank you for your support and trust. To our staff, thank you for your dedication and heart. And to our community, thank you for standing with us in support of public education.

I hope this holiday brings you rest, joy and meaningful time with loved ones. I am thankful every day for the opportunity to serve you and to be part of the Pascagoula-Gautier School District.

Warm regards,

Dr. Caterria B. Payton, Superintendent
